Robert Carlyle as Nicholas Rush – The "ship's brilliant Machiavellian

I like this guy. Even before the piliot episode I liked hime.He looks smart,brilliant and even dark. Even if you examine AmandaTapping *(Carter) you can kind of get the same sence from her. You know nothing of Rushe's past.....but as the series goes on, when he sit's in the chair, you begin to see the skeletons in his closet, as well as his fear.....especially his fear (yes fear) over the brilliance displayed by his younger, but necessary counterpart Eli Wallace (David Blue).
This is my kind of guy.....there is so much innner turmoil....you know heleft because he had nothing else to live for, and he never expected to come back, but basically the entire mission as well as the survival of the crew squarely rests on his shoulders.
