Cast Updates On Other Shows -- Lou Diamond Phillips

From the Houston Chronicle, Ken Hoffman's column, he mentions someone from The Woodlands, my hometown being in it, Entertainment Diva Torrie Wilson and 9 other "celebrities." "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! will debut Monday on NBC and run 7-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday until its June 24 final verdict. The other "celebrities" include former NBA player John Salley, MTV reality stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, American Idol loser Sanjaya Malakar, Stephen (not Alec) Baldwin, loony former supermodel Janice Dickinson, and actually talented Lou Diamond Phillips (hey, what's he doing here?)."

That sounds like a really horrible show! The fans unleash terror on the celebs... I saw a commercial for it and it seemed like they were unleashing bees on sanjaya... which shamefully made me crack up... I actually watched that show when they aired it on ABC. I just thought it was great that Ken Hoffman of the Houston Chronicle didn't understand why Lou Diamond Phillips was in this group of untalented people being that he is so talented. I think our hometown The Woodlands, Texas gal Torrie Wilson got the spot Rod Blagovich (probably spelled that wrong) had. I think Lou Diamond Phillips will win. Let's root for our SGU star!

It's a funny premise, but I think that Lou Diamond is not in it for the "celebrity" like Speidi or Sanjaya, I think Lou is in it for a charity. I just remember the first one where Alanna Stewart had an animal hissing at her head, which was freaking hilarious. I think it's amusing, but I think it should be called " I'm a Celebrity?" Because with the exception of Lou Diamond Phillips, the rest of them are notorious or washed up has beens. It should be Lou Diamond Phillips and people who think they're famous. I seriously hope he doesn't have to do anything too embarrassing. That would be awful. Sanjaya and bees... I'm there.

Yes, I'm still watching it, although it is more lame than the original one that was on ABC many years ago. Lou was voted team leader for the week so he got to have a very comfortable bed and got to eat normal food for the week. He was a real trooper on the food challenge test where he had to get this screwed on star out of a hole that was crawling with rats who were biting him and once bitten, started gnawing at the same wound. He had to get his hand bandaged up afterwards, but he persevered and got the star. One of the ladies was voted off this week. I think there is 2 more weeks to go and they are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. I hope he wins, too.

I saw the episode where he got injured, it looked like they bit all the way to the bone on his hand and he kept at it. He is such a dedicated person, and his strength to push through intense pain only shows that he is willing to do anything for a good cause.

On Monday night, he was named camp leader for the second week. You know, though, I've been impressed with Sanjaya. I don't think he is there for the celebrity anymore. He puts all his heart into those challenges while most of them won't even try. Will keep you all updated. It would be nice if he could win for his charity. Then, when he goes back to the SGU set, they should set up a food challenge (like having to eat weird things -- Joe Mallozzi would be good to find obscure bizarre things) to welcome him back.

So update on this week's show. He won the immunity trial so he wasn't going to be up for elimination this week. He showed good leadership skills in the camp with Janice (I'm a spoiled child) Dickerson and her antics who refuses to do anything, cries about her bronchitis (well she should just leave then), steals things from the other campers and apparently urinates within the camp perimeter. Cameras are on 24/7 but all he said after receiving a note that she was doing this, was to remind the campers not to do this as it will attract rats into the camp which will then attract snakes. But everyone knew it was her. Then briefly they were all sharing their favorite moments last night (I just caught the last 15 minutes, will have to watch on DVR later) but Sanjaya started crying that Lou had become like a father figure to him in just the short time they had been there, teaching him things his father couldn't. Lou was deeply touched (you could tell on his face). He promised Sanjaya he would teach him how to catch a ball. It was a sweet moment.
