I'm hoping that the new series will kina be like atlantis but from what i've see it won't be. I will however still watch it because it's stargate never the less. I'm 35 years old...live in Las Vegas...I am a single parent of a now 10 year old...who loves sci-fi just as much as I do... I'm not expecting anything with the new series...other than some real excitement. I am fairly new to the Stargate shows ( I'm currently making my way through the SG-1 episodes) and from what little I have seen of the Atlantis episodes, Ive come to the conclusion that each series is different in its own unique way..and thats something to really look forward to. I loved the originial SG-1, learned to love Atlantis and hope the same thing is true for Universe. Oh, I am a high school math teacher with a Masters in Math. Great to meet everyone! I've been a SciFi fan since the original Star Trek.....yes, I'm old enough to have seen them air on TV the first time! Though I've been a fan of SG-1 and SG Atlantis since they began, I've not really been involved with SG discussion boards up until now. I am looking forward to this series. Don't be shy! denkiva" I'm actually better known as PBMom, but someone already took the user ID. I took the ID because I'm always known as "Patrick's mom" (never seem to have my own identity LOL). I am a blogger on Fox 26 Houston's web site and used to be part of their live segment "Your Family Matters" that was part of their 5:00-5:30 news segment. I have a now 13-year-old child with severe autism, mild hypotonic cerebral palsy, mental retardation, sensory integration disorder and 5 years ago seizures were added to the list. I created the first special needs ministry at any church in our community (now that I can't do it anymore, it is now gone, but other people at other churches have now created even bigger and better ministries). I've had a few things published over the years. Being a huge fan of science fiction, Stargate is, of course, part of that world. I work full-time at home as a telecommuter. I'm advocating in my state about lack of services for people with disabilities. I also love golden retrievers and would like to some day start a community with the most severely affected people with autism to help care for and train golden retrievers to be community service dogs for people with autism. I want them to have someplace safe, and someplace where they feel valued and loved. I guess that is why I like sci-fi so must...believing that the impossible can come true. I'm Sarah.. born, bred and still living on the South Coast of England so will get to see all the episodes months after my friends across the pond.. Am soooo up for SG-U and hope it can compete and hold it's own against SG1 and Atlantis.. I'm sure it can.. was wary of Atlantis when that started and knew I was going to be missing Jack and Daniel, but Shepherd and Ronon soon put paid to that.. Here's to what should be a great series.. However, it leaves little time for dating.. :0) Kate is the one who got me started watching Stargate...She started watching Farscape ( she loves Pilot )...and will watch Stargate with me. She also started watching Star Trek ( the older series) ..I think she relates to Spock..for some reason. I guess Im raising her right..lol...the kid loves sci-fi...
