1. My Preparations

I am watching Stargate Atlantis...right now, I am also catching up on SG-1 eps, watching the original Stargate movie: The James Spader, Kurt Russell Gem that started it all. And of course, I am researching more on SGU for all of us to share and gain more knowledge beforehand. October needs to be here, right now!

"What activities are you engaging in to prep yourself for the October premiere?"I have been watching the 10 years of SG-1 and will watch Atlantis again. I have seen the trailer and Universe seems rather dark. Not a fan of "dark" but keeping an open mind. Do you find this valuable? |

Hey, that's all you gotta do. You're going in with a good mindset, be open to it, and see where it goes. I, personally, really like dark things, but to each their own. I'm sure they'll have their light moments here and there, but they'll be pivotal to the show. :)

As a newbie gater...Im still making my way through the SG-1 episodes ( Im on season 8 right now)...Im hoping to get caught up on this, the movies and Atlantis before October.As far as the "darkness" of SGU, I cant wait to see how this plays out...I dont mind dark...as long as there is some light occasionally. My fear is that they will turn this into LOST...but in space instead of an island .. and dont get me wrong...I love LOST..I just dont want to see it in a Stargate universe.. Do you find this valuable? |

Me and my friend are going to be watching lots of Stargate SG-1/Atlantis over the summer during our time off, though we have watched virtually all the episodes from both series

I doubt they'll turn it into Lost, no JJ Abrams, thankfully for us. It's great that Sci Fi is able to play as many eps as possible, and I hope they go back to having SG1 and Atlantis daily, just Atlantis on Friday's is killing me. :)

Making sure I get my tax return completed by October 15th (extended deadline) so I can start watching the show with a clear mind. LOL. Also, renting more movies like Cloverfield and Blair Witch Project so that I can get used to the camera moving without throwing up.

I think the whole, Stargate Dynamic will make it different from Voyager. I liken Stargate series, namely the Atlantis type vein, somewhere along the lines of Andromeda, but without the whole, I'm from another time and I'm frozen {Capt. Hunt} type thing. I think that this series will be a mix of SG1, small amounts of Andromeda: a mysterious ship and where the hell are we, and Firefly. It seems to be grittier than the other two series. SG1 and Atlantis were very pristine, Atlantis especially, with the bright cheery colors and the sunlight, and even the enemies were a light color. Universe seems to be darker, both in subject matter and in the colors chosen. I also like the elemental angle that they're using for the eps. We'll find out in October, just what it is about. :)

I'm not doing anything because we may not get it right away here in Canada. Unless one of the American networks we get up here (Fox/CBS/ABC/NBC) decides to air it. Of if Space or Global pics it up. Fingers crossed.

I'm counting down the days and rewatching SG1 and SGA... but being in Switzerland where SGU is not even going to air, I'm going to have to resort to other methods. Do you find this valuable? |
