I had such high hopes for strgate Universe and i recorded every last episode of season one on my hard drive and me and a Hard core fan settled down to watch it in a marathon viewing session. And to be brutally honest it was terrible, The special effects are top notch, but the storylines were forgettable and very week. We even had an episode without an end, Sorry it did end, but people got eaten by aliens and the next episode everybody was fine were we in an alternit universe or what, then the good ship destiny moved on. You got the feeling the characters on SG1 and SGA really got on and were really doing wonderouse things everytime they stepped through the stargate the new characters are to busy figuring out ways to tick each other off. I am a scotsman and i really can not understand mr Carlyle's character what a wimp!!! The characters from SG1 and Stargate Atlantis will be realling wondering why they lost there jobs for this......

"I feel the same way. I loved, loved, loved Stargate Atlantis. It should have never ended. Totally dumb move. I can't stand the low class, mean, no morals captin. I love Dr. Rush but he doesn't have a backbone either, and non of them have any integrity at all. The asain chick I've hated in everything she's starred in, and I wish she would leave. Hate her and her character. I hope these characters develop into something we can look up to and admire. They all should take a lesson from Stargate Atlantis, where the captin is actually GOOD." i know wot u mean i liked atlantis and sgu and look wot they done with that

What an absolutely ****** way to end this series!!! To leave one of the main characters out of stasis and facing almost certain death is pure horse ****!!!! I hate you people for canceling this show and leaving me nothing at all to watch on TV!!!

" You got my support on that Fish 1000, as I totally agree with you there. A good enemy and at least one hot character. Although I did miss just a few episodes of SGA, I thoroughly enjoyed this sci-fi series. But, as yet, I'm still wondering if we'll ever see a movie follow up of it. However, I did read about it on Wikipedia earlier that executive producer Brad Wright confirmed that the proposed Stargate Atlantis movie have been permanently shelved. :( By the way,I even voted Yes on your comment being valuable!!

I have read hundreds of science fiction stories, and viewed dozens of movies and series. I really liked SG-1 FOR EXAMPLE. Each time I have viewed Universe, I have hoped for the best, but have experienced the worse! Theser writers seem to know nothing about how to create a science fiction plot, or develop interesting characters, nor interesting relationships. Look at the best: Star Trek. Big ideas, interesting but understandable science, clearly defended interesting characters, super relationships between characters. Everyone felt that they knew and cared for these people. They seemed real...and you wanted to be there with them! Universe has had two years to refine their theme and characters, but have failed miserably!!! I could write better scripts..sad to say...very SAD.

I loved Rush in "Malice".... esp when he became bent on vengeance for the death of his friend. ( I forgot her name, but she is the one that is a quadriplegic)
Also the death of the redhead that was Eli's love interest.
Rush is a nice complicated character with multi levels to him.
He is neither good or bad....just a nice mix that makes you like and hate him at the same time.

I don't know about you guy's but I'm ready to see an ancient in the show. Whether ascended or not I just want to see one. It always brings such magic to the show, and a sort of mystical presence. Anyone agree? Or disagree?

In episode 5, light, (where they are heading for that star and 15 people are chosen via lottery to head for a possibly habitable planet in a shuttle) at the end it is hinted that Dr Rush didn’t put his name in the lottery because he may have already known that Destiny would survive going through the star.
Now if that WAS the case, (and I’m not saying it was) what would his reasoning be behind that? Why would he want to get rid of 15 people? It’s not as if he would have any control over who those people were if it was a lottery... So there would be 15 less people to feed, use power, use water and therefore supplies would last longer? What do you think?
I do realise that it was probably just Colonel Young being overly suspicious... I know Dr Rush is a little scheming and underhanded but I really don’t think he would murder 15 people just to save supplies or get them out the way.

Maybe he wasn't sure if they would make it or not.
I'm sure he would have kept it to himself...mostly because he was still unsure at the time.
Seems as time goes on and he learns more about Destiny, he keeps more to himself...for fear of losing his advantage over the others.

I have a problem with Episode 8 - Time. Did anyone ever figure out if that was supposed to continue? I didn't end up seeing a solution to what happened which should have meant that the whole ship died right? They either died or figured out how the get the venom from those things without anyone else dying. That episode stopped at the wrong point... almost to where the writers just decided... "let's take another angle and hope that no one remembers that last episode."
Please tell me I'm missing something.

I'm glad that we were able to see how and why Greer's character is the way he is.. His father was very influential in shaping his hard, angry, no BS personality. With the responsibility he's been given, I think he will emerge as a leader and surprise even himself. He is one of my favorite characters, I can't imagine the series without him. Most of all love his swagger. :)

I heard lots of you like 'Eli'. Why?
I have to say, sorry, that I hate that guy, he can't compare himself to McKay... He's just a young scientist kid, probably put in there for teenagers to enjoy the show more... He acts immature and is not that good of an actor either... Am I missing something here? :|

What a cool ship. A little strange that the Destiny has technology dated from before the other SG shows. Wonder how that will play out?

Destiny is a nice ship no Enterprise or Andromeda, but it has its coolness, and I think the people are probably over looking what the ship is. To me after seeing that robot, the ship looks like its a Stargate placer. Its easy to make that conclusion with the robot, and the serious anceintness of the ship. It sucks none of them have gotten the hang of controling the ship though, but hopefully they figure it all out before their annhialated.

"I picked SG-1 but only if O'Neill was the leader. It's always nice to be part of the original kick ass team. I would probably have volunteered for the Atlantis Expedition no matter what team I was on.
I used to play a Stargate RPG where I was a Tok'ra but assigned to SG-8 (diplomatic team.) I've always thought there should be a Tok'ra on Atlantis. After all the Wraith could pose just as big a threat to this galaxy as the Goa'uld. A Tok'ra with a Tau'ri host from the SGC would make an interesting addition to the Pegasus galaxy.
