Biography
Family, impact of his influence
Senator Alan Armstrong, Father to Chloe, is present at the Icarus Base. He is his childs father, and mentor and when he is killed, it is incredibly tragic and it is very hard to watch. His role is listed as pivotal, and it is possible that his death will impact the one person he loved the most in the most positive way: Chloe
He is described as being the Political oversight to this Stargate project dialing the 9th chevron. He is also described as being distinguished.

His daughter Chloe, unknown if he has other children, or what his wife's name is/was. He was the be all and end all in his childs eyes. She looked up to him, and wanted to be just like him. She had "friends" who only wanted to be around her because her father was a Senator, and they wanted the power and influence that came along with it. When he dies, she is all alone, and has to fend for herself among complete strangers. She is left alone, in a strange and somewhat hostile environment. She has to learn every lesson the hard way.
DEFINING EPISODES FOR CHARACTER
Senator Alan Armstrong's Future:
Grim: He is killed either during the evacuation of the Icarus Base, or during the attack on the Icarus Base.
It is apparent that he dies in the second episode, and his daughter Chloe, is on base as his aide at the time.

McDonald, however, hopes to be able to return to the show in some capacity... it is Sci Fi after all, and from what we've learned with
Dr. Carson Beckett, even the fully dead can and do come back. We may see clones in our future.
