His father is an American of Scottish/Irish, Hawaiian and Cherokee descent. His mother is a Filipina of Spanish, Chinese and Japanese descent. When he started acting and filming a movie called "trespasses", he met his first wife, Julie Cypher, who would later leave him less than three years later for Melissa Etheridge. He was briefly engaged to, but never married Jennifer Tilly, and he then married his second wife model Kelly Phillips who had three children by him. Grace Moorea and Isabella Patricia (twins) and Lili Jordan. They separated in 2004, and he was dating a woman named Yvonne Marie Boismier. In 2006, he was arrested for alleged domestic violence at his LA home, and he plead no contest to a misdemeanor count of domestic battery, and was sentenced to three years' probation. He was also ordered to undergo one year of domestic violence counseling and to serve 200 hours of community service. He and Boismier married when his divorce was finalized in 2007. They married less than a month after he was free from his second marriage. In October 2007, about two months later, his daughter Indigo Sanara was born. In his spare time, he likes to play poker, and he plays on the World Poker Tour in the Hollywood Games. The charity he plays for is the Sierra Canyon High School and Santa Suzanna Montessori. He also recently won the newest installment of the series "I'm a Celebrity, Get me out of here!", in which celebrities play for charity.
